For almost eight years I have photographed magical and everyday moments of my kids’ lives. But so far I haven’t gotten around to put any of these into nice albums for them to look into. Or to treasure when they leave our house someday in the future. That’s why, in taking on this blogging journey for myself, I decided to add a chapter called journal. And the first challenge I will get myself into is to start capturing familylife by 52 themes or subjects.
52 weeks of capturing family life
Inspired by an online course by Emma and Elsie and their wonderful team at A Beautiful Mess. I had actually bought this years and years ago, but left it there to sit while day-to-day life caught my attention. They do not offer it on their site anymore, but I do think this one might be similar. The course focussed on documenting life. To make it more in line with my blogging objectives I’ve mainly used the list of captions to come up with my own version covering family stuff.
Each week I will search my digital photo files with the specific subject in mind (I might even get these files sorted out along the way too – cheering). I’ll then pick one or two pictures per child (or maybe one from every year they exist, depending on the theme) and share these in a blog post with you. Obviously accompanied by the week’s subject and my precious memories or heartfelt emotions coming with these pictures.
Are you in?
I hope to inspire you to also give a go at your digital memories and come up with albums or wall-art or anything else creative. Want to play along? Comment below and I’ll send you my list of subjects. Share with your friends or family so they can join to. And be sure to use #52weeksoffamilylife on social media so I can find you. Alternatively, you can join the closed Happy Go Large Family Facebook Group. That way we can share our photos more privately if you like.
I’ll reveal the first weeks theme for you:
Good night 😉
